Dance fitness has been around for a long time and is still growing in popularity. The reason for this is because it is a fun way to fit exercise into your routine while improving physical fitness at the same time, incorporating vibrant music with energetic dance moves. Dance classes not only teach you choreography but the fast pace can burn up to 480 calories in one hour. Some classes also build weights and other fitness equipment into their routines. Dance fitness classes at UFC Gym include:
ZUMBA: Zumba is currently the most popular dance class at UFC Gym. The moves are easy to learn and the constant aerobic movements tone the arms and legs.
RHYTHM & MOVES: This class is an exciting combination of dance and boxing. You will learn a range of moves from Salsa to Hip Hop while incorporating powerful boxing manoeuvres.
Requiring less memorisation than our dance fitness classes, the cycling sessions usually last between 50-80 minutes, guided by a professional instructor and set to the background of some of your favourite music. While you are able to go at your own pace, don’t underestimate a cycling class, they include rough terrain and obstacles that require focus and perseverance. You can burn up to 550 calories in one 50 minutes session and these classes are considered to be one of the best cardio workouts.
In addition to traditional spinning, UFC also offers other high-intensity cycling classes:
CIRCUIT CYCLE: This class focuses on core training and is a high-octane workout, increasing strength and endurance.
KILLER CYCLE: While on your bike you will encounter outdoor challenges, such as hills and valleys, which will push your workout to the next level and make you feel like you’re facing the elements.
FUNCTIONAL FITNESS CLASSES
These classes are centered around maintaining overall physical health that will help you from day to day. If you are looking to experience a variety of exercises that aren’t all about bodybuilding, these are perfect choices. Some classes may be difficult for newcomers but, after time and practice, they can burn up to 700 calories in an hour.
MUAY THAI: Muay Thai focuses on physical strength and endurance. You will be taught a range of activities such as calisthenics, shadowboxing, bag work and core exercises.
UFC FIT: an excellent work out of high-intensity interval training (HIIT.)
